Fall 2024 Arrival Info

As we prepare for the start of the Fall 2024 semester, Global Affairs has made arrangements to help international students arrive on campus.

Shuttle Service

WVU will be offering shuttles from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) to locations on our Morgantown campus on Thursday, August 15 and Friday, August 16. The shuttle will run at 1:00 PM (EST) each day. The shuttle will depart from the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh Airport (connected to the airport).

All incoming students should receive an arrival survey, which includes a section to register for the shuttle on July 25, 2024. If you don't receive the survey, please contact globalaffairs@mail.wvu.edu.

The shuttle will make two stops for drop-off: on the Evansdale Campus at the Evansdale Residential Complex (ERC Towers); and the Downtown Campus at the entrance to Stalnaker Hall. If you are living off-campus, you must make separate arrangements from either of these two drop-off locations, such as an Uber or taxi.

HOSPITALITY ROOM

While you wait for the shuttle to the WVU campus, we have prepared a hospitality room with refreshments. The hospitality room is located at the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport -- located at the airport. Once at the Hyatt, signs will direct you to the waiting area. The shuttle departs from the Hyatt, and a Global Affairs team member will greet you when the shuttle arrives. The Hospitality Room opens at 8:00 AM (EST) each day, and is not available for sleeping overnight. If your arrival occurs prior to the shuttle time you are personally responsible for arranging a hotel.

If you are arriving before or after the scheduled shuttle dates, please explore options to Travel to WVU.

International Student Orientation

New International Student Orientation will be held on Monday, August 19 at 9:00 a.m.. Orientation is mandatory as part of your obligations as a student on an F-1 or J-1 visa. The orientation will be held in the Mountainlair on the Downtown Campus (1550 University Ave, Morgantown, WV).

Orientation will introduce you to West Virginia University and Morgantown and provide information on topics such as campus activities, health insurance requirements, managing your immigration and SEVIS record, U.S laws, and cultural adjustment.

Immediately after orientation, Global Affairs will host the International Student Welcome Picnic on Mountainlair Green. With music, food, games, the Welcome Picnic is a great way to meet the Global Affairs team and make new friends while learning more about WVU.
