NOTE: Undergraduate students who have applied for and paid their housing deposit are permitted to move into the residence halls on August 11, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
NOTE: Intensive English Program (IEP) students are not required to attend this orientation session. They will have alternate orientation dates communicated directly through the IEP.
Schedule of Events
Orientation will introduce you to West Virginia University and Morgantown, allow you to meet other new students, and provide information on topics such as campus activities, health insurance requirements, managing your immigration and SEVIS record, U.S laws, and cultural adjustment. Staff members from offices around campus have made special arrangements to participate in this event so that they can introduce themselves and discuss the services and support they provide. Further questions about orientation can be answered by ISSS staff during check-in.

9:15 -10:30 A.M. | Academic Sessions
This session explains important information for international students, including immigration, technology, academic standards, and more.
9:15 -10:30 A.M. | Exchange Student 101
For Exchange Students (non-degree) Students Only
Meet WVU's Education Abroad team, as well as your fellow exchange students. Welcome activities will help you meet your new classmates, as well as introduce you to campus life at WVU.
10:45 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. | International Student 101
Location TBD, Required for all International Students
An afternoon planned activities and introduction to American collegiate life.
11:30 A.M. - 12:15 P.M. | Lunch
Free lunch?! Enjoy a meal on us.
12:30 P.M. | Advising and Placement Testing
Mountainlair & Armstrong Hall
Meet with an academic adviser to register for your first semester classes. If needed, take the ALEKS math placement exam.
1:30 P.M. | Information Fair
