Please stay connected by becoming a fan of International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS) Facebook Page where you can meet new and old international students engaged in discussions. It’s a great way to make friends and ask questions before you arrive on campus.

We encourage you to spend time navigating our website. The website contains important information designed to help you maintain your immigration status and adjust to your new home in Morgantown. Now is a good time for you to become familiar with our website before you arrive.

We are looking forward to seeing you here in Morgantown! Please allow us to join the other offices on campus in congratulating you on your acceptance to the Mountaineer family!

International Students and Scholars Services

In addition to organizing check-in and orientation for new WVU international students, we provide advising and assistance with:

  • Immigration regulations and paperwork
  • Social and cultural adjustment
  • Personal concerns

Please be aware that the check-in and orientation process involves multiple mandatory steps including orientation, placement tests if applicable, and course registration. On average it takes 3-5 days to complete the process. Please make your plans accordingly.

SEVIS Check-in

International student check-in is held during orientation. If you are unable to come to orientation due to extreme circumstances, please be sure to come to Purinton House to complete your check-in.

Note: Check-in is mandatory as it serves to validate your SEVIS record.

Orientation

International student orientation is held each semester to assist with getting you on board with the campus community. A tentative orientation schedule is available at https://isss.wvu.edu/students/on-boarding/new-student-orientation in due course. We kindly request that you familiarize yourself with the orientation schedule, and plan other meetings around it.

Intensive English Program (IEP) students are not required to attend this orientation session. They will have alternate orientation dates communicated through the IEP.
