International Students and Scholars Services

In addition to organizing check-in and orientation for new WVU international students, we provide advising and assistance with:

  • Immigration regulations and paperwork
  • Social and cultural adjustment
  • Personal concerns

Please be aware that the check-in and orientation process involves multiple mandatory steps including orientation, placement tests if applicable, and course registration. On average it takes 3-5 days to complete the process. Please make your plans accordingly.

SEVIS Check-in

International student check-in is held during orientation. If you are unable to come to orientation due to extreme circumstances, please be sure to come to Purinton House to complete your check-in.

Note: Check-in is mandatory as it serves to validate your SEVIS record.

International student orientation is held each semester to assist with getting you on board with the campus community. A tentative orientation schedule is available in due course. We kindly request that you familiarize yourself with the orientation schedule, and plan other meetings around it.

Intensive English Program (IEP) students are not required to attend this orientation session. They will have alternate orientation dates communicated through the IEP.
